I have compiled a list of book report guidelines that a great to follow.
For better skills in writing follow this checklist:
- Always underline a book’s title
- Never start a sentence with words such as But, Because, And Or
- Spell out numbers one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten
- Remember numbers from twenty-one through ninety-nine all have hyphens in them.
- Avoid using slang.
- Use proper punctuation and spelling. With the use of text messaging children are forgetting the valuable use of correct spelling and appreciate or make their own text for words which will be detrimental as they need to develop proper writing skills.
- Do not start the next sentence with the same words which to started the last sentence with.
- No contractions should be used. All words should be fully spelled out.
- Use a thesaurus so that you can use a variation of the same word instead of repeating yourself.
Checklist before you turn in your book report:
- Fill out the book report form as you read the book. After you are completed you may have forgotten an important part.
- Read over your report and make sure everything sounds correct. If not, correct the information before turning in the report to your teacher.
This is one of my biggest issues with students:
- Make sure everything is spelled correctly.
- Have you used correct punctuation?
- Is there a title page?
- If your paper neat and easy to read?
If you follow the above when list when preparing your book report you should be set and have an easy writing experience each and every time you have to prepare a new project.
